The first time we had heard of Damwon Gaming was at 2018 Worlds in which the majority of teams were telling us during their interviews about how good the junior Korean team was in scrims, and how they'll dominate the world in 2019 when they compete in LCK. They didn't live up to their hype the next year. Damwon Gaming had a little increase in their performance later in the year and was able to qualify for Worlds but their performance wasn't really impressive as they fell to G2 Esports in the quarter-finals. In the year that they bought Ghost from Sandbox Gaming and their results increased with each game they played. Damwon is just one step away of the ultimate honor in "League of Legends" and also being part of the elite team to lift the "Summoner’s Cup". However, many are interested in the players, and from where they came from. That's why we will walk through the past and tell a brief story about the five players who started.

Top: Nuguri

A hard-working teenager who loved playing videogames is the way to describe Nuguri in the early days of his professional life, but with time he started to focus on League of Legends far more than his studies. He participated in an internet cafe tournament and received his first offer to join a professional group and participated in IGS for a whole year. There Nuguri was spotted by Damwon Gaming, who wanted Nuguri to be their starting top laner for their main team. Nuguri not only brought his incredible ability to Damwon Gaming, but also his lively personality. One could not really describe the importance of this in a professional setting. Nuguri rose quickly to prominence in Korean SoloQ. The players feared him due to his amazing laning and team fighting. However, Nuguri still believes he has much to learn. His desire to win the Summoner's Cup has changed. He is more determined than ever to become the most successful player on the field. Jungler: Canyon

Canyon is the only player in the history of LCK to earn the pentakill, but his path to reach this point has been filled with a few difficult moments. Canyon was a member of Damwon Gaming late 2018, and was a key part of the scrims Kings' time. However, Canyon played among the top junglers around the world at 17 years old. It was certainly thrilling for him to beat them. Canyon continued to do the same in 2019 but slowly others caught on to his tactics and that affected the results of Damwon Gaming.

Canyon Damwon and Canyon Damwon worked hard throughout the year until they made it to the promised country. Their biggest accomplishment was their revenge on G2 Esports last Wednesday during the semi-finals. Canyon has finally beaten every single jungler that he lost to last year and the only thing stopping him from winning the Summoner's Cup this week is Suning Gaming.

Mid: Showmaker

It is evident in his interviews that Showmaker is the most competitive player on the team. When asked to rank how crucial his contribution is to the current performance of the team, Showmaker replied: "I am feeling like, even when I win, I get carried away and when I lose I don't have any presence". Showmaker admitted that it's difficult for players in their 20s to carry the hopes and cheers of a multitude of supporters every week. Everyone on the team trusts Showmaker and frequently say that he is the most vocal member of the team, however Showmaker, a young midlaner, has often admitted to doubting himself often.

Showmaker stated in an interview that this was his best tournament, but soon afterwards he said that he believes it is the worst. G2 Esports were on Showmaker's minds throughout the year. He would always talk about how he wanted revenge for the loss last year. We witnessed how pleased the team was last weekend. Showmaker was always spamming emotes, and even stole G2 Esports post-game celebration to demonstrate that he isn't willing to accept any disrespect to his team or his region. We'll be seeing an Showmaker who is more comfortable and confident with the past, as his eyes are on the future.

Support: Beryl

Damwon Gaming's primary shot-caller is Beryl. He is the longest-running member of Damwon Gaming and has been playing for the longest period of time. Beryl was previously an ADC but after Nuclear joined Damwon Gaming from H2K, the team agreed to share time with Hoit as the support player for the team. Beryl was always on the sidelines, seeking out more information about his teammates and the video game itself, however Coach Kim was not consistent with his team selection and he was never given the chance to demonstrate his skills as a top class support. In the year that Coach Zefa was in charge, Beryl finally got that chance and showed his true potential throughout the year. You can learn more about them at handleveled.net on DAMWON Gaming: Who Are They.

Damwon Gaming players joke that Baryl isn't just the supportplayer, as well as a great player as well as a jungler and ADC for their team. This is because of the amount of time he spends on the field and assists his teammates from every angle. Beryl can be described as the veteran who plays a big brother to those who are new to the game. I think he is a many CoreJJ players from the 2017 Samsung Galaxy, which won Worlds. Beryl will challenge his team to their highest level in the battle against Suning Gaming this week, and he will defend them.
