...See more I'm having trouble with my stepson. His attitude and behavior have been very problematic lately, and he told my husband yesterday that he only acts like that towards us because he doesn't like being at our house. That breaks my heart. I also feel so guilty for making him so unhappy that it's almost unbearable. There's been some tension present from the beginning, but it just keeps getting worse and worse. I think my husband contributed to some of that by the way he has treated me in front of the kids and the way he speaks about me to and around them. He's trying to make up for that now, but I feel like it's too late. I wish he could understand how hard it is to parent somebody else's children. How I gave up so much for them and him and I still feel like an outsider in my own home. I don't feel like there's any equality between him and me in terms of responsibilities. I feel like I'm a babysitter and a maid and not a wife or stepmom.
