...See more My boyfriend and I had an argument and I used my self harm attempt as a defense mechanism. Saying “ I wish my attempt was successful” it’s never happened before I was in therapy for over a year. I don’t even know why I brought it up. I am hurt I am ashamed I feel a level of immaturity for even saying it. I didn’t think before I spoke. Does anyone have any idea on why? Let me also explain this is an above and beyond healthy relationship and he’s created a very safe environment for me mentally physically and emotionally. I have a very traumatic background front being a child to an adult. How do I approach this sensitive topic with him? I don’t want it happening again. He’s done everything right by me but I feel like a burden due to my trauma. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
