May i talk to someone?
General Support / by nightmarelando

...See more is it okay to talk to someone one here, more specifically so in a one on one manner? The last few days has been rough for me as stress and overwhelm has been through the roof. consequently i feel ashamed for my struggles… even if it is a bit of an irrational emotion to feel as i am someone who constantly wants to do better. I don’t want to allow my emotions to take control over me, because it makes me feel worse.

A question.
Autism Support / by nightmarelando

...See more (Scroll to the last paragraph for the question, if you have a short attention span.) I hear some people with autism / of those who are autistic, (or any other means you may identify yourself), are not exactly the most fond of colder weather… Whether it is dry or humid. I understand that this is situational, meaning that it heavily depends on who it is I am speaking with. But I usually find the ones that live in colder areas to be less fond of the cold than the ones who does not… More common with allistics from what I have seen, but it still applies to some people who aren’t allistic as well. In a joking manner, it seems nobody is safe from the “grass is always greener on the other side” mentality… But here goes. I live in a hot and very humid place. I will not give out my exact location for safety reasons but it is within the United States, particularly the eastern area… And I do not like it, here. For one of the myriad of reasons people wish to move in an area like mine, has to do with the (much) warmer weather… Yet it is very reason why I wish to leave. People have their reasons as in why they do not like the cold, i seen people online mentioning snow and ice making it harder to drive on the roads, or the lack of sunlight (which is a good source of vitamin d), or it could be because of a physical/mental health condition worsening within certain types of weather, all to name a few… Any reason is valid. Once people live in a cold area like i don’t know… Erm, upstate New York for example, I assume that it’s because they actually experience a harsher and/or longer winter, especially for when they are there for longer periods of time in weather they don’t like or find challenging is why they yearn to leave. Dealing with these setbacks can be challenging for neurotypical folk, however it could be even more challenging for neurodivergent people as well… Which understandably leads to some autistic individuals disliking the cold. Now, I would like to mention that the area i live in lacks seasons… Winter and autumn to be precise. Therefore, I have never truly dealt with the very things that make winter so unbearable for some people. I do not truly know or understand everything. But with that being said, my question is this: Would you find the colder weather or the hotter weather to be more bearable for you? Take care.

Saying “Hello”.
Motivation & Accountability / by nightmarelando
Last post
July 22nd
...See more Good Evening, everyone. Whether it be day or night... Or whether it be rain or shine. You need not to say anything personal or to place so much emotion to your words… You don’t even have to make a new friend if that’s not something that is in mind for you. If it means that this could help you leave the world of “safety” and to take the risk on being rejected… Then it’s always okay to start at your own pace, even if it’s at a rather slow one. Therefore learning the very things I did over all of this time, I came here to say my greetings to everyone. My name Is Nightmare, and I am not looking to make any friends but rather to simply say my “hello” and to move on from this post. With that being said if you have the courage and volition to do so, I wish for all of you to say “hello” to any person who you may think of one day, such as a parent or a classmate. And it does not matter where you exchange your greetings at, in school, at work, at home, anywhere. All in all, I thank you for reading my post and making it this far. And as for anyone who is okay with my preferences then I thank you, too, for your understanding and kindness. Take care.

☕️ I Regret Drinking Hot Cocoa Last Night… ☕️

...See more Hot cocoa is hands down, the best drink for autumn/winter… This is simply just my truth! Heck, every time autumn or winter comes around, I drink hot cocoa and use the time of the year as an excuse to drink it in 80 ~ 90 degree weather. But guess what? Drinking the damned thing is not the best thing to drink at night… IF it is CAFFEINATED. This is for obvious reasons. I did it anyways, because it just makes my night more ✨lovely✨, and because it was the only option we had at the house. But, my night was SO lovely that it is now 6:30 in the morning, and i had been up since 5:45. What an idiot, amirite? But hey, hope this gave you some laughs. 😁🫶🏻

Is there a chatting room/listener for ocd and/or autism?

...See more A little bit of background information: I am diagnosed autistic, (support lvl: unknown), with a very concerning issue of emotional dysregulation and sensory overload. For OCD however, I do not have a diagnosis for. Though, I do have OCD-like behaviors that i regularly act on since growing up. it may or may not entirely accurate, as i only understand the basics of the disorder. i know of intrusive thoughts that can make you obsess/worry over certain things. or compulsions that is either done mentally, such as reassuring yourself that what you think of is irrational to neutralize/silence said thoughts, or physically, such as cleaning or checking because your mind tells you that unless {insert compulsion here} is done, something will happen. and that such repetition often only temporarily ease your worries until another thought based on that obsession appears into your head. My thoughts, worries, and past experiences have only worsened my mental wellbeing… making it difficult to leave my own room and to make connections with everyone. Though even if i can finally place all of my problems to the side, i would’ve felt too overwhelmed to leave my room and to make any meaningful conversations anyways. It’s due to the place i live in being way too loud, having to hear sounds that worsens my sensory issues to the point of tears, or being too cramped, or all of the above. I am now aware that isolating myself in my room will only continue to make my thoughts and worries even worse. So it is why i wish to seek out help. However, if i was inaccurate about ocd, please let me know and i will edit out anything i can or delete the post if i can’t. as again, i only understand so much of any disorder, so any correction or criticism would be appreciated. and if you are to find anything, know that any adults / adult (20+) only chat rooms will work fine with me. :)

I Feel Like A Horrible Person.
OCD & Related Behaviors / by nightmarelando

...See more Earlier today, I taken out the garbage without telling anyone because I was bored and I didn’t have anything better to do. Came back inside and have figured out that the garbage can has wasp poison on it. I immediately washed myself down and have grabbed a paper towel, soap, and water, and wiped down just about everything I have touched. Problem is that I didn’t let everything fully dry, so if anything I am afraid I have made everything worse because i didn’t dry anything off after washing it. I talked with my mom about it, and she says everything should be okay. But her reassurance isn’t enough for me, I still feel afraid because I haven’t fully dried everything off. I don’t know what to do, I am afraid for myself and my family.

Depression Support / by nightmarelando

...See more (20nb) I have depression and had it for almost 8 years, now. I have points of where i become utterly hopeless with life, and i give up on trying to live and cope with avoiding my feelings/problems through distractions like the internet, for example. i don’t feel alive, because i feel like i am in a state of only existing. i simply am just too tired to live. I know how exhausting it is with wanting to just wish that our problems were only bad dreams and nothing more, because it’s where i stand now. My personal problems is the reason that i am in such a point. i feel numb because of how overwhelmed i really am from life, but i still do have regret in my heart for the problems i have caused, and bitterness from the problems that i haven’t. but what is the one thing i want to do, despite my situation? i may not know what everyone is going through, i may not be able to feel for or to even understand many people.. but i do want to help them somehow. not to befriend anyone, i am not ready / willing for that at all, but i want to shed some light onto the people also struggling with feeling overwhelmed with life. not because i feel for them, but because they are people who have their own struggles, too. so i share my desire to you all because i am unsure on what to do with seeing so many people in pain. How can i be able to save someone, let alone countless others on the internet? How can i do this to where i won’t become too overwhelmed?
