...See more Anyone else struggle to trust doctors whether it's primary care, dentists, eye doctors, etc? I had an ovarian cyst rupture a couple years ago and saw 4 different primary care doctors in 4 weeks. The first 2 dismissed it as anxiety or a weak core. It took a lot out of me to switch providers. Now I'm having a similar problem with dentists. I've seen 5 different dentists in 5 years. I get told so many different things and I feel guilted into paying for stuff I probably don't need. I just got a cavity filled for the third time and I've been numbed for the same tooth four times now. I just feel like I'm the only one facing trust issues with providers. Note: I do get very anxious at any appointment anymore for the fact I have no idea what they're going to say or even if I should be trusting them with my care. Or any tips on how to get through this whole mess?

...See more Does anyone have any tips or any ideas to get through a regular dental cleaning next week? I’ve struggled to be comfortable with an office for more than 2 appointments. My childhood dentist told me I wasn’t cooperating for a filling one time and would just touch my shoulder in an uncomfortable for me way. So I switched and this dentist seemed upset when I told him my bite felt off. Switched again and the next hygienist was upset I gagged and needed suction to relax. I’m just worried about switching again. Their office seemed super nice and assuring on the phone. I’m just worried about it.

...See more You’ll all probably think I’m crazy but I’m looking for any tips to get through the next week. I have an annual review at work later this week. I’ve been here less than a year and feel like I’ve made thousands of mistakes. I don’t know how it’ll go but in my past job I always rated myself low then my boss gave me a high review. All my coworkers and managers at the previous job judged me based on that. Also I’m afraid to talk to half of the people here. I just don’t talk to them and they seem intimidating to me. Then next week I have a dentist appointment. I’ve always hated going there but I’ve decided to switch dentists and this will be my first time seeing this one. The last one seemed money hungry and trying to convince me I need multiple things. Also the hygienist was rude so there’s another reason I wanted to switch. Tips on how to get through this week?

...See more You’ll all probably think I’m crazy but I have my first annual review at work this week and a dentist appt next week which are both stressing me outtttt. At my old job I would always rate myself rather low as there’s always room for improvement and everyone (management, coworkers, etc) would all give me a hard time over it. My boss always rated me rather high though. I don’t know how this one will go as I’m new to this job (close to a year) and have made what feels like thousands of mistakes. Then I’ve never ever liked the dentist. So bad that one time I forced myself to throw up so I could leave. I’m just extra on edge about this upcoming one as it’s with a new dentist at a location I’ve never gone to before. The other dentist kept changing her mind on course of treatment and just seemed money hungry plus the hygienist wasn’t very nice with me since I struggle with gag reflex. Any tips to get me through this week? I do have an “as needed” medication for anxiety but sometimes try to go without it.
