...See more Hi. I’ve been carrying this around for a while, and I guess I just need to get it out somewhere safe. A few years ago, I worked with a man who was married. Nothing physical ever happened, but there was this slow-building intensity between us. Long stares, lingering moments, subtle conversations, and a kind of emotional undercurrent that felt… mutual. At the time, I didn’t fully understand it. I just knew I felt something strong. I now realize I developed real feelings for him, and over the years, those feelings never fully went away. We hadn’t seen each other in years, and then I ran into him last year. He looked at me for what felt like forever—this deep, silent stare that brought everything rushing back. That stare felt like confirmation of something we never said out loud. Eventually, I confessed my feelings. At first, it was subtle. Then more direct. I didn’t expect anything from him. I just needed to speak it aloud after holding it in for so long. He never responded. He blocked me on ***, but didn’t block me on other platforms. After seeing him again recently and feeling like there was still something there, I sent a few more messages—some of them more vulnerable, some crossing the line. I regret that part. Now I’m sitting in this quiet space where I don’t know how he really feels. His silence is louder than a no, but I still keep wondering: if it was nothing, why didn’t he just say so? Why the lingering looks? Why keep the door half open? I know I probably seem foolish. I know it’s not healthy to hold onto someone who won’t talk to me. But the feelings still feel real. I’ve been trying to let go. I feel ashamed, confused, and stuck between regret and longing. If anyone has ever experienced something like this—falling for someone who feels just out of reach, or being haunted by unspoken tension—I’d really appreciate your perspective.
