...See more Hi, I am completly new here, so I don't really know how any of this works. English is also not my first language, please bear with me. I don't know if I have to put any trigger warnings, but just in case: TW/alcohol addiction I really have no idea how to put this, it is a really long story but I try to keep it short. I just need to tell this to somebody, who might understand me. Don't get me wrong, I talked to friends, my boyfriend and some of my family, but that's just not the same I guess. I can't really say when her addiction started, but it started so slow, that you first didn't notice it. But at some point it escelated. She drank so much, that when I came home from work I would find her knocked out on the sofa, and that went on for days. In the weekend when my step-dad was home all day, everything was finde, but when he went to work again, it all happened all over. I tried everything I could think of: I talked to her calmly, I cried to her, I screamed at her, and so on. And everytime she would say the same thing: "I will stop, I promise." It didn't stop. For the past few days, she stopped drinking, but I know it will start again. I have lived with this situation for 3+ years now, but I still can't cope with it. How do you handle such thing?
