...See more Hi I’m new here. It’s holiday season and I am lonely. I live alone with two cats. I’m 59 female. Retired. Widowed for 12 years. The holidays are such a source of loneliness and stress. At the same time one of my cats is not well. This adds even more to the stress. I really have only one friend. Though we’ve known each other from having worked at the same place in the past we were never close. I can’t share my feelings with her at this time. I think over time we may become closer friends. I hope so. I don’t know how to make friends. Now with COVID I feel even more alone. Not that I can really think of what I would be doing if there was no COVID. I suffer from depression and anxiety. I am under a doctor’s care. While I have talked with a therapist it does not really seem to help. I think I need more of a personal connection with someone to talk to. I really don’t know what to do. Since I don’t celebrate the holidays there’s nothing I can do to make me feel better in that regard. If you read this far - thank you. I’m sure I’m not alone with the loneliness in general and specific to the holidays.
