Help for some OCD that’s reoccurring.

...See more I need some advice. Very recently I am obsessing over little things like tiny balls of dog hair that my pets shed. A piece of food stuck to a dish. A speck of something a fly left on my chair. I have very good eyesight I guess! I’m too hard on myself and I seem to be giving the OCD a lot of power. I’m wondering if ignoring these tiny things will help? I’m 77 and disabled, alone quite a bit since my husband works two jobs. Usually none of this bothers me. I prefer not to add any drugs since I already take blood pressure meds. Any ideas about intrusive thoughts? I’d really appreciate help.

OCD creeping back in?

...See more Hi members!  I’m isolated due to a disability and becoming what I believe is obsessive compulsive.  I have two darling dogs to keep me busy but whenever I see a tiny hairball I am compelled to go after it! Same goes for specks of food on a dish or something minute that otherwise doesn’t matter. The thought of these sit at the top of my priorities list. I’m wondering if I should not try so hard to be perfect? How do I take the power out of obsessive thoughts? Are there any suggestions, methods, books on the subject? I’m here by myself most of the time due to a disability. New to my area and rely on my husband a lot.
