I don’t have any hope for any future

...See more For years I have kept on and on saying that I want to be living in a special needs accommodation and attending a therapy and treatment centre for those with ASD disorders, which is all I have ever wanted. Instead I have found myself restricted, still living in this household without any means of escape from this environment, and unable to gain any access to the special needs facilities and mental health services available in this country. It has been almost fifteen years since I came over to America, I haven’t been able to cope. I didn't want to be put in this situation in the first place. Although my parents only wanted the best for me, they didn’t stop to consider the struggles I would end up facing with my status. It should have occurred to them the negative effect this would have on my mental well-being. I keep asking WHEN is my green card going to arrive so that I will be able to start getting the professional help I need; how many more years will I be kept waiting for my green card?! How long will I continue to struggle to get through life?! I keep thinking about how I would have been a lot better off staying in Britain and getting help over there so that I would have freedom and access to mental health therapy programmes and special needs support. I was brought over here for a purpose, but I am not happy with where I am today. I don't want to just be settled wherever; all I ever want is to be settled where I will be able to cope - at the moment I am not coping. Whenever I think about my life ten to fifteen years from now I just feel like giving up on life because of not being able to see a way out. And all I ever want is for there to be a way out. I don’t want to continue in this vicious cycle for the rest of my life.
