Distant

...See more Sometimes I feel really sad and I don't know why. That's not really the problem right now though. My problem is the anxiety that comes with the sad feeling. I tend to withdraw when I feel this way and can come across as distant and unapproachable. From that, I worry about the way in which others are perceiving me. I find it hard to open up about what I am feeling - even putting my feelings into words is a struggle for me - and so I have a difficult time accepting help. I'm worried that because of these tendencies I am pushing people away and maybe even annoying them in the process. As I write this out I know that it sounds contradictory and silly, but the anxiety only contributes to more unhappy thoughts which bring more anxiety which sends me into a spiral.

...See more I'm worried that by talking about my anxiety and worries I am putting too much stress on the people around me - mainly my boyfriend. I am assured that I am not burdening anyone but I am still convinced that it will become too much and I'll annoy people and drive them away - or that they won't be able to handle what I am sharing and that will cause them to resent me. I had some problems in my last relationship due to this, as my ex was upset that he couldn't do more to help which led him to react negatively when I confided in him. Now I try not to talk about any of it unless prompted but sometimes it is hard to hide my exhaustion, especially from those close to me.
