Patient and doctor issue

...See more Hi, id like to ask this on behalf of someone i know who is going through this issue. She's a doctor, and from many years she's had a patient, let's call her X, who's been a family friend too. X is an older woman and has pretty distant relationship with her own children. They're well off, so the family issue isn't about money. X seems to be having some mental issues over the years. From the way the doctor described her conversations, she seemed to be very lonely and depressed. X keeps calling this doctor to her home to just give her company and talk with her. Which the doctor did a few times. Now the problem is that X is being a bit too pushy in my opinion, calling up the doctor at odd hours, visiting her in the clinic and speaking to her for hours and crying, and constantly asking her to come over. At one point she came over to the doctor's house and stayed for over three hours talking to the people there who very pretty fed up. Basically she's inconviniencing her almost every other week. X's husband once came over to the doctor and bluntly told her that the stories told by X are all a sign of paranoia and actually everything is cool at home. I personally was sympathetic to X in the beginning but now everytime i hear about her calling, I get irritated. Ive asked the doctor to stop picking up calls, but she's having a crisis on doing her duty or saying no. I feel guilty for asking her to cut her off from her life, because i feel like X should really be looking for a therapist and seek professional help than badger someone who is already not able to get enough time with her family. Im not sure what is the stance to take here. Am i being too cold hearted? I am open to knowing if its my behaviour thats wrong. Any advice would help.

...See more Does anyone else just give up halfway because it has reached a point where you KNOW it's not going to work. (And suppose you do try on the insistence of your friends and family.. it plays out exactly like that) People have told me it's me ruining my chances of anything. And then I agree that it's possible, and do give whatever it is a try.. it just fails. This happens frequently, specially if I need anything from anything that involves management of any type, or anything related to companies. Anyone else dealing with this?

Overwhelming emotions

...See more I don't if it's mood swings, but I'm constantly under the grip of strong emotions. I might be very sad at one point of the day, and furious the next moment. It helps to talk to others about it, but I still don't understand why this happens. I don't recall being like this a few years back.. it feels like I've become more whiny about my problems too, and I'm not able to deal with it. I've tried breathing exercises and mindfulness, but I just can't seem to control myself at the heat of the moment. I'd really like to hear any advice.

No one wants to take imitiative

...See more Hi everyone It's a common scenario, and to be honest it's not completely a workplace thing, but it is related to my professional growth, hence I'm posting this here. My teammates completely lack taking initiative. They aren't deadweight, atleast two of them aren't. The third one is another issue in itself. But I'm finding it very hard to coordinate between this, my private life and also managing other stresses. The higher ups do not care for my mental well being. And unfortunately they see me as the face of the team This means that every delay, every fault, every absence is first directed at me. And while I've managed it just fine at the beginning, I think I'm going to crack. There's only so much I can do, and my team doesn't want to appreciate how doing some things would really ease my burden. It's becoming harder for me because I couldn't do some things I had in mind because of this project, and I finally realised that no one is ever going to step in. So I kind of just keep doing my own thing now. Unfortunately I lack the extreme lack of guilt they have and end up coming back, because damn it, it's my project and I can't let it die. I've talked to them seriously about it, even threatening to remove them and implying they can leave if they're not upto it. But the message never goes through their skulls. To make this even worse, I'm introverted and shy by nature, so doing any thing extra that requires me to interact with people puts me in a bad mood. Basically it's a my weakness vs their weakness in a bad scenario
