Period distress

...See more Tw: suicide, periods. Ever since I’ve ever had my period, I’ve felt like it was so wrong for me. Everything that is related to my reproductive system feels so wrong, and I get intense feelings of distress, anger, repulsion, and depression. These feelings are there all the time but during my period it’s so in my face I can’t escape it. I’ve recently started a bc pill that’s seasonal, so I only get my period 4 times a year, but the thought of still having it makes me really distressed. Around my period my emotions get so out of whack I don’t feel like myself and I have issues with thoughts of suicide - I get so overwhelmed and feel so cornered I get really frantic. It’s bad for my health and my relationships, and really impacting my life. I feel so overwhelmed by this. I’m 24 so I don’t think any kind of surgery would be easy for me find a doctor to willingly perform it, and I’m not really sure what else to do. I wish I could stop my periods forever, and just get rid of my reproductive system. I would love to hear from other people who have experienced these kinds of feelings, or have struggled with their periods. What do you do to make life with a period bearable or tolerable? I’m really struggling with it. Respectfully, please don’t come in and invalidate my feelings and tell me that my period is something I should feel positively about. I understand that some women feel that way, but this is something I really struggle with, and right now I’m just trying to minimize the distress and the repulsion and frantic response I have towards my period.
