Never knew 'coming out as depressed' was ever going to be an issue but here it is
Depression Support / by stubbornjerk

...See more I'm 15, living in conservative Philippines. People here don't really believe in mental health issues, saying that disorders are excuses. Admittedly, it's a rustic way of thinking. Well, not really everyone believes that. There are just those people, you know? And my parents? Definitely one of 'em. Here's the thing, I've hinted multiple times on social media, where my mother can see, that I have depressive disorder. I've told them how it's so odd that I'm not hungry enough for eating twice a day, then eating too much on another day. I've told them how I have insomnia and they laughed it off. I was a little hurt by that, and I never really forget when I get hurt, so yeah. My struggle is kind of... it's something. Someone suggested that I should search for free clinics offering psychiatric help (since I'm really worried about money problems and how my parents will probably use that excuse or something), and there are no free clinics in the PH that have counseling. I've had support, from my friends, to my sisters (who I've already told about my condition). But it just gets too much. So much that it's affecting my way of life, it's affecting my motivations. Hell, it might affect my grades, which my mother prioritizes. I'm just, I'm aiming for a Psychology course for college so, that might help. But I have a lot of years ahead of me, and I need to get this fixed or at least dealt with. I can't just get into a bout during exam weeks! I just, can someone help?
