Is my “boring” relationship a good or bad thing?
Relationship Stress / by sydneycd

...See more My boyfriend and I are 19 and in college. We met at the beginning of March and started officially dating at the beginning of April of this past year. We were only dating for about a month before the semester ended and we had to start long distance as we both live in different states. This guy is extremely kind and has been very patient with me as I navigate a bit of a stressful summer. He has no real major red flags at all. He has undoubtedly treated me better than any other man. He is not without faults but the point I want to express is that he isn’t directly causing the way I’m feeling right now. I fully recognize that distance is hard and can be boring but I can’t help but feel bored with my relationship in general. I don’t really get incredibly excited to talk to him or call or facetime. It’s just something that happens throughout the day. When we do talk it’s always surface level conversations and sometimes I feel like there’s parts of me he doesn’t really know. I just feel like I’m not as emotionally invested in this relationship as I have been in the past. However, I also wonder if I only feel this way because this relationship is stable. Am I bored or am I just not feeling anxious about a relationship for once? I don’t want to throw away something that’s good at a chance at something better. But I’m also only 19 and cant help but wonder if I would be happier experimenting with other people and other relationships. I’m just not sure what to do.
