Haven’t been on 7 Cups in a while; looking forward to talking at first with the intention of becoming a listener eventually.

Coming here to process co-dependency

...See more I come to 7 Cups every once in a while when the budget necessitates it. Otherwise I pay for talk therapy. I’m here this time because as of a few months ago, following more than a year of discovery, introspection and meditation, I feel relief in identifying as a co-dependent/addict/childhood trauma survivor. As of two months ago, after feeling clear on this new identity, I signed a lease and am moving out of the home where my spouse and two kids live. We are in the first phase of informally separating (in discussion/verbal agreement only, nothing legal). It feels right to me. I am so relieved to finally feel empowered (mostly by the co-dependent community and supportive mom friends) to advocate for myself and really listen to what I need in this phase in life. My spouse and I have come up with a pretty solid co-parenting plan. Whereas it feels very one-sided on my part, my spouse understands and wants the best for me and the kids. So thankfully we are in a good place for now. Thanks for listening. Please feel welcome to connect with me if you want to connect over co-dependency, separation or anything else really! Glad to be here! Avocado

...See more Just started identifying as a co-dependent. It is actually a relief because I can put feelings with words and causation now. Once I discovered this was a real option for me, I chose to leave my marriage of 10 years, with two kids, to go live in my own place (and co-parent) to “recover”. Anyone else have this this type of realization? If so, where are you at on your journey? Looking forward to connecting with those who also identify as co-dependent who were or are married with kids. Thanks sincerely.
