How to tell parents I possibly have Depression?

...See more I want to know how to confront my parents about possibly having depression and getting help. I’ve dealt with what I assume is depression starting around middle school (I am in high school now) and I’ve never been able to ask any adults for help. I’ve mostly just kept quiet about it and sought out help from other places (friends, etc). I thought it was slowly getting better, but lately I’ve felt like my mental health started spiraling down again, and I want to be able to get some form of professional help. I’ve never been great with communicating to my parents or confronting people in general so I am very much struggling! How would I bring this subject up?? It isn’t exactly a casual dinner conversation. I have tried subtly hinting at needing “someone to talk to” in the past and it hasn’t gone too well for me. It’s been brushed off and I was promptly told that “No one will care to help”, etc. I’m a bit afraid that if I bring this up again that the same will happen.

Friend ignores me and only talks about themselves

...See more I have a friend that I text pretty frequently. But every time we talk the conversation will end up completely steering towards them. Normally I don’t mind, I enjoy listening to people talk about whatever they’re interested in. But with this specific friend it’s gotten to a point where I have no room to say anything else. They always end up ignoring anything I’ll say or would only give very dry and short responses before moving the subject to themselves. It’s the same thing when we hang out in person! Frankly, I’ve started to not really want to talk to them because of this. I’ve met people that’s done similar thing and neither have ended well for me. I’ll really like to know if anyone had this kind of thing happen and how you handled it!

Should I distance myself?

...See more I have this friend, Robin, that I’ve known for a couple of years (Not their real name). They’re one of the few people I still talk to from my old school. However, I recently found out that they’re still friends with a bully of mine, and I’ve started to doubt our friendship. The bully was kind of the “mom-friend” in Robin and I’s old group. She was one of the older kids and everyone (including me) regarded them pretty highly. Every time someone would be going through something tough, she’ll be there to comfort them. Despite that, she was sometimes also a bit mean. We were all in online group chats together, and she’s often sent her friends to harass people she didn’t like, and would talk bad about them behind their backs. I’m not sure when it started, but I began realizing that she started being passive aggressive towards me. Leaving me out of group stuff, making fun of the things I like, + making fun of my art, etc. I was terrified she’ll send my own friends to harass me. I managed to distance myself. I was struggling with paying attention in school, and my anxiety had skyrocketed. Even now, I still frequently freak out when I think about her and the things she could be telling Robin and the others. So, finding out recently that Robin not only talks to her, but was actively friends with her, really made me freak out. Robin was there when I was being made fun of, yet they still look up to her. I really don’t know what to do. Im too scared to confront my friend. I know Robin hasn’t handled this kind of drama well in the past, and since they still look up to my bully so, I’m afraid Robin will side with her. but at the same time, I also can’t distance myself. They’re one of the few people I’m kind of close with + the often ask me to hangout. I don’t want to ignore Robin’s messages and accidentally ruin our friendship! I really don’t know what to do.

Carpophobia - fear of wrists/veins

...See more I have no idea how this started but around middle school I started to become more squeamish about the idea of wrists and veins. It wasn’t as bad back them. But when late middleschool/high school got around I was completely terrified of them. It got to the point I couldn’t do simple tasks like washing dishes or holding an object. Just thinking about them makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. Lately it’s thankfully calmed down a bit, but it’s still a pain to deal with. Does anyone else deal with this?

...See more Hi, I’ve been very tired and mostly unmotivated for a while now. Started from middle school and kind of carried on. It not consistent, sometimes I’ll get a random boost of energy and be able to be productive, but then it’ll get knocked right out of me when something inconvenient happens. I find I struggle taking care of myself, always too tired and not bothering to do anything until it gets kinda bad. I also keep forgetting things, and can’t really do a lot of stuff consistently everyday. And I get very frustrated with noises and movement from others, esp when I’m working. My parents are loud a lot, and I honestly can’t handle it. Started thinking and worrying a lot more too. I honestly don’t know what’s up with me, I’ve heard people suggest neurdivergency (Fidget a lot, picking, biting, sensitive to sound, absolutely hates tight clothing.. But im not sure), or maybe even depression. I don’t know too much about either so.. Any suggestions? Is this just an average thing? Am I looking too deep into it? I wish I can ask someone professionally but I doubt my parents will listen.
