A much older -- and I'd like to believe wiser -- person with widely varied life experience, I've been married nearly 40 years and helped raise two great kids. I've been hearing people out forever offline, as a friend and relative, but also in my career as an interpreter. We are trained to listen to what people are saying and understand what they really mean. Sometimes "mhm, I see" is all you need, but a lot of people would like more active listening and support. I try to give that, and always with a sense of humor to help lighten the load.

We can't reduce everyone's pain and neither does everyone requires solutions to their problems. People are smart enough to tackle their own problems. but they do require someone, who can listen to them and i am trying to be that someone for them.
