It takes a great deal of self-awareness and strength to recognize when you can't go through something alone. I know it used to be for me! Day-to-day, I work as a care manager for people dealing with mental health, substance use, and housing struggles. I work at a peer-run agency as a Certified Peer Specialist, also! My day job brings such meaning and purpose to my life. That said, I like to be here to lend an ear to whoever I can. In my experience, I've found anonymity can be helpful in really allowing people to connect in the most fundamental ways, free from assumptions and judgement. I am a student currently persuing engineering, I have many a times struggled with my own thoughts and felt I could go insane.... Those were the times I felt like I wanted someone to just listen to me, just sit with me and my thoughts, I was expecting them to magically solve everything but I felt talking to them would lift a weight from my heart.
