7 Cups Editorial Team
About the 7 Cups Editorial Team
The 7 Cups Editorial Team brings together writers, researchers, and mental health professionals. The team is led by Head of Content, Ayesha Tariq Ali, MS Clinical Psychology, who oversees our topics, editorial standards, fact-checking, and publication process. Clinical review is led by Lisa Meighan, MSc Psychology, Director of Clinical Operations. Our clinical standards are developed with guidance from 7 Cups' clinical leadership, including Glen Moriarty, Psy.D., founder and CEO.
How Our Articles Are Made
Our topics often come from the questions and concerns people bring to 7 Cups listeners and therapists, along with research into what people are looking for online. Our editorial team develops articles using reliable sources, with AI-assisted tools used during the initial drafting process. Every article is then reviewed and edited by a member of our editorial team and checked against its sources. Articles covering mental health conditions, symptoms, trauma, or treatment are also reviewed by a qualified clinician before publication.
Applying Our Updated Standards
We updated our editorial and clinical review standards in August 2026 and are gradually applying them across our existing library. As part of this process, we're adding sources and making it clearer who edited and reviewed each article and when. Articles that have gone through this update will display that information on the page.
What We Don't Publish
We don't provide medication, dosing, or treatment guidance. These areas require prescriber-level expertise that our editorial team does not have. Our content is educational and is not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment.
Why We Do This
We're committed to creating content that reflects diverse perspectives and lived experiences shared by the 7 Cups community. Our goal is to make mental health information clear, useful, and accessible to the people who need it.
