I'm changing not sure I like it

I grew up being very shy and introverted. I made myself become more animated and outgoing once I started college. Then when I started teaching, I was the extroverted one for sure. Did not have an issue around new people. Now with covid, I resigned and work from home. I am here except for grocery store runs where I get angry with people ignoring CDC rules. I've become more withdrawn and shy again. Also biting nails compulsively which I hate. When I had fake nails this became a none issue for me. But no way I'll go now. Our state and city in red zone as always. Anyway just wanted to get that out there.

@goodWalker4788

I totally relate to this . COVID has been a social isolation nightmare for us introverts. And suffering from depression

Yeah, due to COVID-19 I don't have a social life anymore and depression has been creeping in. How do you deal with it?

@originalScenery4691 me too. Find myself crying all the time or being apathetic. When snowy and grey outside it makes it worse. Past few days have been nice so I enjoy walking the dog in the sunshine. This does help. Might have to wear thermal undies in the cold and keep going out.

Yes, this is hard, for sure. I'm an introvert and this is getting to me. Whatever social life I had pre-pandemic is almost nil. 95% of my social contacts are online, text or phone. This is stretching the limits to the max.

It's very normal to fall back onto old habits when we are in a stressful situation. I used to be very OCD... probably needed meds for it, but somehow changed over the years. When things get tough, I find I am cleaning and organizing and need things to be a certain way. Now that I am a lot older, I recognize it, groove with it and eventually it will pass.
