Job stress over legal issue

I’m new to this group, I am currently on a deferred sentence, not a conviction, for an isolated domestic abuse incident. This was 5 years ago and I never told my employer of 35 years because it’s not a conviction. They found out about it through a recent background check in all employees. I had a meeting with HR last week and and still working while they determine my discipline. I’m a wreck, help!
