..............Types of Age

I recently quit two rather toxic online chat forums.   They are mostly frequented by immature and sexually desperate men, who are there for ***...but I did make some good friends with normal chats.

Now, those sites offered no mechanism to verify age or gender.....but of course that was the first thing the *** pushy men would ask.   I chose not to answer.

Quite a few times I would encounter young persons; sometimes they would come to the site out of boredom.   What depressed me was traits most of them exhibited:

Ignorance, apathy, entitlement, extremely short attention span,

Some of these kids truly were lost.  The site is international, and I chatted with folks from all over the world, or so they told me.    I would try to guide or encourage them and it was as if no one in their lives had ever even tried to get them to use their brains, their judgement.

They would then ask my age, and I'd refuse to answer.  I did write this to them:   Chronological age isn't necessarily a very reliable measure of emotional maturity, intelligence or even life experience.

Then they would say, "Yeah, but I just wanna KNOW"....this was people in COLLEGE sounding like spoiled four years olds demanding a cookie!

I would recommend books to them and they would INSIST:  "just tell me what the book says!"

Gimme, gimme, gimme, now, now, now.

Not all of them. But many were like this.   

I'd ask them, what would you like to chat about, what are your interests?

The answer was always "idk"

idk, idk, idk.

Ask them ANYTHING and the answer was "I don't know"
