Depression
Hi. I'm 52 years old and I'm struggling with psychotic depression. I'm looking for some support and understanding from people with the same issue and age group. Nice meeting you all :) marygee820
@marygee820 Welcome to 7cups. We are so glad to have you.
Thank you. I'm really new to this and I'm not much good with sharing but I realized that I need to find my own support system or join a support group of some kind just so I could get out of my head. I've been struggling with my depression for so long on my own to the point where I don't feel like I could go on anymore. It's kind of like a red flag situation but I don't really know how or where to look for help. Seeing a doctor and doing therapy is not even an option right now because I just don't have the means to seek professional help. So idk maybe joining support groups is the best I could think of right now in trying to deal with my depression.. Any advice would be welcome and very much appreciated. Thanks
Hi @marygee820, It is good that you are undertaking actions to support yourself. I wish you only possitive effects by interacting in this web-site. I suffer of depression already two years. I need communication, I live alone, but in this situation it is not easy to contact people. I hope in some relief here. G

@marygee820 I’m in the same situation. At least, when you’re here, you’re not alone. Sometimes the most frightening place is in our own heads. I understand.
@dapperPond2037 I agree with that one. Being in my head is not always a nice place to be...that's why for me it is important to talk things through with someone.
Being alone with my thoughts was really becoming unbearable. Thats why Im here. It was becoming noticeable at work. I began to believe I was unique or something. You are not alone.
Hi, thanks for sharing, I feel depressed too, but now I don’t feel so alone. Best wishes for your continued strength
@marygee820 I used to suffer from depression years ago and have been off of medication for a while, but I do tend to get a little depressed since I live alone and have almost no support from family and/or friends. I know how tough it can me. I get depressed because I am a people person and it is tough with no one to talk to or people that understand me. What kind of support are you looking for? Someone to chat with? Vent to? Do you have any tools that you use to help you (i.e., meditation, EFT tapping, journaling, etc.)?
