I am new here. I tried the one on one chats last night and failed badly. So, today I thought I would look for folks my age to talk to. I am 55 years old. I am here because I am going through a rough time with very little support.

In May my husband of 23 years walked out of the door, and I haven't seen him since. I have only heard from him through our children. He is divorcing me. I had no idea he was that unhappy or even planning this. What makes it worse is that we were living in the UK. I am a US citizen. I had to return to the US as UK immigration rules are not like the ones in the US. I am now sleeping on my sister's couch. I have no job. No money.

I have had a job offer. Thank god. I will have to move states to work. But, still with no money. I am so depressed and stressed. I can't even think of all that has happened. I have been so consumed by surviving and finding a job. I also had to rehome my two precious doggies. I couldn't bring them. All I have in the world is in a suitcase. I have to physically will myself to keep going everyday. I am just so tired and sad.

I've been through a few (quite a few) trials in my life and even a tribulation or two, truth be told. But every single time that I lost hope, I was able to just hang on long enough to see it return again. And I do mean EVERY time! Your journey sounds a lot rougher than mine is right now. Still, it's your journey. Whatever you're going through, however, and whatever you have to do to endure it, your situation will improve. Maybe only subtly and possibly not in the ways you hope for now or imagine but absolutely everything changes for the better, in time. My heart reaches out to you but I can't truly share your burden any more than you can share mine. Still though, by sharing your situation you made mine seem small in comparison. So, if it's any consolation, your miserable experiences helped to make mine more tolerable. Thank you for sharing. I heard said, once, that "a sorrow shared is halved and a joy shared is doubled." I hope that you find at least a glimmer of hope and soon!
