Why I am afraid to cry
I'm scared of things that will make me cry
That's why I don't want to watch those movies and series where there ending is sad ... Even I can't listen sad songs that will make me cry, i don't want to go those places where I know I have to be cry

I understand what you're talking about. I practically want to run out of a room!
I think it's because I always felt like my emotions were being judged and critiqued when I was a kid. My parents would constantly tell me I was being too emotional. Now, I figure no one wants to experience my emotions so I try to eliminate them when others can see. The memory of my Mom going "Iris, hush" is still loud in my head.
Did you have someone who told you to hush?
It's very reassuring are someone who experienced the same thing that I did as kid. Whatever I showed anger or sadness I was too sensitive. My family told me this over and over. I wasn't allowed to feel what I felt or God forbid express it. IT made me feel ashamed of having normal emotions you and at 61 they are still the same thing
@communicativePenguin4153 Do what you are saying. Dont go to places and watch movie scenes that make you cry. Take a break. Youll be better again. Love.
I would say maybe consider - not trying to push you to hard but consider mustering up the courage to either do it alone or get someone you truly trust and put yourself in a place where you feel safe to cry and well maybe once you face the fear it could be incredibly healing or it could be incredibly awful and you never want to do it ever again but I would say you’ll absolutely never know unless you put yourself out there and try.
