The Habits of Highly Productive People

"Practicing Good Habits
It is important to develop good habits to help you stick to your new productivity system. You want to be consistent in your efforts and keep your motivation to achieve.
Protect your time.
Your time is precious. Time is your most precious commodity. Use it wisely. We may not be able to get more time, but you can make more time for you!
Less is more.
Don’t be tempted to pack your items onto your daily to-do list. Stick to your most important tasks. Remember, it is not about the number of tasks you cross off your list each day, it is about working on the right things. Spending your day on one or two important things will get you further than spending it on 20 menial tasks with no significant value.
Task value vs. size.
Please don’t think something like e-mail is unimportant because you save them until the time of day when you have less energy to spend on them. Just because they may not be as mentally taxing as your most important work does not mean they have lost significance. So sending that e-mail, if it is a resource for your important work, is just as valuable as something that may be a 2-hour job. Notice the value in all you do and ensure that you work on the right things.
Focus, Focus, Focus.
Make a conscious effort to focus only on the task at hand. You will perform at your best and carry out the job faster. by giving it your full attention. If you were to spend 1 hour uninterrupted, you would achieve so much more than 3 hours trying to multi-task (that includes checking your phone at every little ping). Make sure you remove distractions and commit to being totally engaged with what you are doing.
Plan your day the night before
This could be any time from the end of your work day. Whenever you choose to do it, I can tell you it is highly beneficial to spend 15 minutes planning the next day. Choosing to do this means that everything is out of your head and down onto paper. You don’t have to think about it. You know it is taken care of. You have a plan.
Reflect and celebrate
Take the time to reflect on the work that you have accomplished. After a long period of time spent on a particular item or at the end of the day, take a moment to appreciate your hard work. Celebrate each little win and be proud of what you achieve. It will keep you motivated and want to keep working towards your success."
