One of my goals for next semester is to do a better job in staying organized. I always seem to have a messy living space, messy desk, messy backpack, and messy headspace. How do my fellow ADHDers cope with organization issues?

@AstralAsh For me this is very difficult. I try to organize everything once a week but it is inevitable to get all messed up again.

@AstralAsh

1. For each subject or class, I use a different color notebook and binder.

2. Another thing I do to help me stay organized is in my planner I use multi colored hi-lighters to color code my different class assignments so I know what homework has to get done for what class.

3. When I take notes I mark the date and hi-light it before I start writing out my notes. (that way I know what information was covered on what day)

4. I make sure that I have no lose papers just lying around, every paper is put in a binder or folder.

5. I pack my backpack the night before I have class/school, this way I know that I will have everything for the next day and not forget anything.

6. Along the lines of #5 I make sure that as soon as my homework is done I put it in my backpack so that it doesn't get lost/misplaced or I forget it.

If you would like some more tips on how to stay organized you can message me and I could probably give you more specific examples aimed toward the level of education you are talking about.

@AstralAsh

You can utilize folders, colors, and dividers to help organize.

Another trick for staying organized is utilizing different piles for different tasks or even different notebooks and folders to keep things separate.
