how to manage everyday life tasks especially studies
my adhd is affecting my studies. i've made stupid decisions without thinking about consequences, the consequences that i've thought about before and after making those decisions. i regret them but anyways my main issue is that the uni i'm currently in has changed my studying pattern and its hard to focus now. i was called a bright student but now i feel dumbest due to lack of focus and interest. ill be hyperfixated over other stuff than the important ones. i'd skip important tasks as i tend to forget things a lot, i'd forget to wash clothes for weeks or buy food sometimes. there is a lack of commitment and even willing to put hard efforts. i cant afford therapy now since i'm broke uni student and my expenses already high living in other city. wish there could be a solution. pomodoro alone dont help. there are too many things to manage when you live alone - food, expenses, 9-5 uni timings, practical records, project work, presentation. for someone too overwhelmed with social anxiety, lonliness, emotional exhaustion, this is a huge mess.

😔
You are going through so much.
It's not easy trying to navigate this all alone, especially when you have no one to talk to.
It's important to just not get too overwhelmed.
Small, daily, consistent tasks allow you to see progress, take the pressure off and build your confidence.
Talk to your uni supervisors if you need to get extra support.
And you are not dumb in any way 💛

hi! :)
I just want you to know that you're definitely not alone in feeling this way. university can be super overwhelming, especially when you're juggling so much on your plate. it’s totally ok to feel lost sometimes, and it doesn’t make you any less bright or capable. have you tried breaking things down into smaller tasks or maybe setting reminders on your phone? it might help to tackle one thing at a time instead of looking at everything all at once.
don’t forget to be kind to yourself. it's tough out there, and you’re doing your best! if you ever need to chat or vent, I’m here for you! 🥰
Hi @greenVillage1753
Like others have said please know that you're not alone in feeling this overwhelmed with 'normal life'. I spent a long time feeling like a failure because I find it hard to cope with the demands of everyday life before realizing that it's not a personality flaw - it's my ADHD. I can imagine how difficult it must be to go from feeling like a high achiever to struggling with your studies 💛 It's not fair.
I can hear how much your studies mean to you and I'm really impressed with how you've tried different things to cope independently. Sounds like you need a rest - I hope you can find some time and space to truly break away from all the pressures - even if just for half an hour.
I wonder if your uni student support can help? I know it's scary to reach out - especially if you find social interactions anxiety inducing 💛 They might be able to help you lower the workload, find work arounds to assignments, sort extensions or buddy study sessions.
On the practical house stuff side - take whatever shortcuts you can to make life easier, it's not cheating, it's being kind to yourself. I'll drop some examples below but obviously it might not be helpful and you know what's achievable for you.
- ready meals in freezer
- have a rotation of easy peasy recipes to hand so you're never stuck on what to make
- use cleaning apps and reminders
- if you live with others see if you can swap chores
- calendar on my phone home screen so I end up seeing important tasks/events every time I unlock my phone
- take advantage of saving/spending trackers via mobile banking. Online banks offer helpful features and make it easier to set limits etc
- body double. Make use of quiet study sessions in libraries, call a family member as you do house chores or sit in a cafe to do admin work
I hope you find more support in your offline life and know that you're not alone in this, we've all got your back here at 7 cups 💛
