So it’s my first time having ADHD and I just have one question. Does people think that ADHD is just a symptom not a mental disorder? Because every time i talk to people about my ADHD they just think that I’m saying that for attention

tbh not many think of ADD (orAdHD) as an actual class of neurodiversity. All i can say for certain is that you are still neurodivergent, no matter what people think! (I hope i worded that right) and you belong in spaces for non-neurodivergent and neurodivergent people!

Afaik ADHD is technically a neurological disorder that's characterized by certain differences in dopamine levels and other neurotransmitters. It's not just one symptom but a complex interaction of different things. I'm sorry for what you had to hear from other people. Please consider seeing other communities for neurodivergent people so you can relate to their experiences as well :)
