Cleaning Tips

Sorry if this is in the wrong topic section, I thought general would be a good place to put it lol.

Does anybody have any good tips on cleaning your room? I have accepted that when I clean my room it's not gonna stay that way lol. But I try to accommodate myself in all the ways that I can and make it simple and easy to stay on top of the mess. But actually cleaning it- oh boy. I just recently got rid of a giant contractor's bag worth of clothing (donated ofc) and my room has just been a WRECK. I want to get my friend over to body double with me and just sit on my bed while I clean, but does anybody else have any good tips or ideas other than waiting for a day of random motivation and energy? It's getting to the point that my place of comfort is not comfortable anymore. It just makes me feel paralyzed and like a slimy little slug that just sits in bed all day. I can't operate in it! I have managed to get a good grip on my anxiety and any depression that comes my way, but I refuse to have my comfort zone overthrown by the great trash monster that lives inside my room! Anyway, I'd love any good tips thrown my way! Hope you're all having a pleasant month!  🫶

I'm with you, cleaning is my least favourite thing but I try and remember that peaceful and accomplished feeling when it's all done and that spurs me on.

I try to put an energetic cleaning playlist on and have an icy drink or say to myself, let's make the weekends time for tidying up, that way it makes me want to be active, even if I'm singing offtune an forgetting the words.

I incentivise myself, no laptop or games or phone time, until I do at least 1 room or 1 task. It's to get going in the first place that is difficult.

Spot cleaning is so much easier. I'm trying to stay on top of it. This might sound silly but I also add something else when I've finished a chore..

I'm proud of you for doing that, it wasn't easy but you got it done, well done, positive words are really nice to hear when you're exhausted :)

I get it completely! Cleaning can be so overwhelming! I always try to make myself think people are coming over so then I end up cleaning my whole house! It might be something you can try to help.

@decisiveNest756

first list out all the problems you face and what can you do abt it.

assign places for stuffs and keep it organize, remember where you put your things, and keep it in a way it becomes easy to reach for. Cleaning and organizing can be simple for some , but its also a trial error method type thing. When you start organizing things you will notice there can always be a better way to put it... change it in you next cleaning session. With time you will evolve and may have diff taste so yeah , it does not have to a complicated one but an easy, personal one for yourself. it may seem more tiring at first but after conscious practice its gonna become a habit and you will not need so often of massive cleaning.
