Inattentive adhd with a baby?!

Hi,

I’m actually not diagnosed yet but I don’t know why it’s took me having a baby to realise damn, something is wrong I mean I’ve always felt like I was not normal, never was able to focus in class, failed my education, knew I wasn’t going to succeed going to university. When people asked what my hobbies were I had none:/

Unfortunately parents will never understand they called me lazy, I just wouldn’t like to be told what to do. What is really annoying is having a motivational boost to do something or maybe try something new, and then the urge disappears after a while.

I’m not sure if people relate to this but I’d love to know! Since having baby and having to physically and emotionally look after someone is where it really hit the pan, it’s very overstimulating, I need breaks, I find basic things hard and I hate that, I hate that I take ages tidying a room, sorting out a laundry basket, anything literally. I am trying to do my best for baby, at the same time I’m organised with her but omg when something interrupts my plan, I get really triggered it’s super weird. In my head I know things need to be done but I just can’t do it ??

Does anyone have medication for this? I mean how does it all work… I’m on a long waiting list yet but meh, I’d like to know other people’s experiences

@Shygirl9928

Im sorry that you were ever made to feel lazy 🥺 or that you weren't genuinely struggling.

You needed support and not judgement.

Congratulations on becoming a mum.

I'm sure your baby is very lucky to call you mum.

Being a new mum is overwhelming alone, without anything else.

 I know it seems frustrating, you want to do more, but you feel like you are not, you are trying your best, you'll take time to get into a routine and that's fine.

One day at a time.

And on the days where you are not dressed and eating cereal for dinner , who cares, you still did your best.

Don't let the small things matter more, spend time getting to know how you and your baby are together, creating precious memories 💜💕

I'm sorry the waiting list to ask these questions is so long, but I hope other people can share their experiences with you and you get the support you need, nice to neet you 💕💜

@Amanda84

thank you so much lovely for your kind words I really appreciate it, yes as you say one day at a time

I really do try but my mind urges me to do better but then my brain can’t function enough to do it. It’s really overstimulating.

I’d love to speak to someone with similar experiences even if they ain’t a mum! So hopefully :) thank you once again x
