Is this normal?
Hello! I’m new to the group and wanted to know something! I thought I posted this but idk if it sent so I apologize if it pops up twice on here. I have ADHD and I am currently on medication. When I take the medication, it does help me get up and move around for example do chores around the house, which is great! However, I get so overwhelmed when I walk into my house and I see a big mess. Sometimes I will just stop and stare and look at everything that I have to do and not end up doing anything at all and just scroll on my phone. I look at the mess and think to myself. Where do I even begin? Is it normal to be on medication for ADHD and still not be able to make a decision on where to even begin with task like this? I feel like sometimes I get stuck when there’s so much things around me that have to be done. Is anyone like this? Any ideas?
@mgp929 - Just my thoughts. Many medications have side effects, and some take time to work in the body. Your prescribing doctor should be able to tell you if a) effectiveness of your med will take time to fully work and/or b) effectiveness will vary over time. Big messes can hinder practically anyone, even if not on any medications. Good luck.
