I think I may have adhd, what do I do?
I'm 22 yo, and I think I might be living with undiagnosed adhd. I don't usually self-diagnose, but it would explain A LOT both about my childhood and about the mess my life became since I entered adulthood and I was left without structure, guidelines and a set routine. I'm hesitant to bring this up with my therapist however, I wouldn't want her to think I'm trying to do her job or playing the victim...in the past I brought up what I now recognize as possible symptoms (anxiety; inability to focus; short term memory loss; constant and problematic disorganization in thoughts and physical spaces I inhabit; inability to choose; executive dysfunction, etc) and she never suggested there might be a link.
What should I do? Should I share my concerns with her? Go behind her back to get an evaluation at the nearest mental health centre? Is there really something about me, or am I just tricking myself to think so so I don't have to take responsability for my failures?
