A Reformer of Myself among a bunch of Sheeples
I began working for the Federal government about 3 months ago and already after 3 months, we get lied to in the workplace about our metrics, I get stuck with a trainer who sabotages my work and my work happiness as much as possible once a week, our "teams" get torn to shreds by people getting ordered to rotate 1 week at home, 1 week in the building, our building has chemical leaks into the AC frequently, making me neurologically unbalanced, and the armed security guards complained about me to the Department Head yesterday because I didn't agree with how the guards were speaking to me disrespectfully.
Lied to, and getting reported about, on the same day as a toxic chemical leak, is really the straw that broke the camel's back yesterday. I'm far from being in any way proud that I work there now. And at age 58 I just cannot swallow the old mantra other people use these days " I'm just happy to have a job during the holidays".
I want to train on the side for a totally different job, in my free time, but I don't know what that job is. All I know is that I will be very impressed with myself having trained in something that brings out the best in me rather than being under the thumb of people around me who are already getting tired of me emailing my concerns every 2 weeks about the detriments of our workplace and the effect of those detriments on myself. By the way, I have Lyme Disease which means I am always ready to advocate for myself.
Your supportive thoughts and observations are highly valued and appreciated at this time. Thank you.
Hii @Nicholahekm0 👋💜
Sounds really frustrating and overwhelming to be dealing with all that at your workplace, I'm sorry you're going through that. It's great that you're considering training for a different job, exploring new opportunities can be empowering step forward.
I hope you be gentle and be kind to yourself through this, it takes strength to pursue a positive change in life. Finding a new path might take time, and that's okay. It's a journey worth taking, and self-discovery you get along the way can be as valuable as the destination.
Remember, you deserve a work environment that respects and values you. I believe in your ability to get through this and find the path that brings you satisfaction and fulfillment you deserve.
Sometimes it can get really tough, but you're not alone. You got a whole community here who got your back 💜✨
I'm really glad to join this community HBee and I've moved into a new town this week so my thanks is 3 days late after getting settled!
@Nicholahekm0
