Due to a big flare up of anxiety, i have not been able to work for the last six years or so. Thankfully im able to live with my parents for support however i have been working through my savings and im starting to worry about my money situation… i was on benefits very briefly but found the constant check ins etc to be way more stressful than it was worth.

I really want to get back into work as i would like to get an income however, every time i even think about applying for something i start to panic 😣 due to my general/social anxiety.

Can anyone recommend any low stress jobs that i could do as a way to ease myself back into work?

@LonelyGinger93 I feel you! I’ve worked part time since I’ve graduated due to my anxiety and I feel lots of weirdness associated with that too.

What’s helped me is jobs that I can work at my own pace at that are less hands on. I landed a job as a coordinator, and it’s a lot of emailing away from people and I can spend as much time as I need double checking details and by myself so I overthink interactions less! Maybe administrative work can be a good fit? Or remote/hybrid work?

I’ve also heard that other people with anxiety like jobs where they are helping and are fast paced to cover the anxiety up. Since you’re so focused on the task at hand, then you can push the worry away since you’re working on solving a problem! Like faster retail jobs/food service/hospitality/medical/childcare/etc! Your mileage may vary- i think it really depends on what triggers you the most.

Good Luck! So proud of you for pushing past your feelings to become stronger!
