I am in a very toxic working environment. Everyone is trying to climb the corporate ladder and backstabbing each other.. But no one is doing the actual work

@meowhee maintaining a positive mindset in a toxic work environment can be challenging, but it's crucial to stay focused on your priorities and mostly your connection with the present moment.
- Set boundaries to limit exposure to negativity, and prioritize self-care activities that nourish your mind and body. Surround yourself with positive influences, both within and outside the workplace.
- Remember that while you can't control the toxicity around you, you have the power to control to what triggers your reactions. By actively cultivating a positive mindset and living in the present moment, you can navigate the toxic environment without becoming consumed by it. Don't let the place and the people drag you to live in the future or in the past.
- Become aware of the voices in your head adding narratives and stories to what "really is in the moment". This attitude could have an enormous impact on your overall well-being and also impacting on co-worker's toxic habits.

@meowhee Maintaining boundaries in a toxic work environment where your decisions are constantly challenged can be tough but essential for your well-being and professional integrity. Approach this with assertiveness, diplomacy, and commitment to your values.
First, clearly define your boundaries, such as limiting availability outside work hours, declining tasks outside your responsibilities, or avoiding gossip. Communicate these boundaries respectfully to colleagues and superiors, explaining their importance for your ethics and work-life balance.
When challenged, stay firm and consistent without compromising, as this can weaken your credibility. Handle situations calmly and professionally to avoid escalating conflicts.
Sometimes, you may need a direct conversation with those challenging your boundaries, explaining your reasons (not excuses) and seeking a compromise on non-essential matters while holding firm on core boundaries.
Recognize that some may not respect your boundaries. In severe cases, escalate the issue to higher authorities or consider alternative employment if the toxic environment becomes unbearable.
Setting and maintaining boundaries requires self-awareness. A lot of it! Living in the present moment makes your self-awareness grow!
Last but not least. Whenever you interact with someone remember the golden rule: "The more important person in the world is the one in front of you." It means that you should focus completely on his/her communication style, both verbal and (mostly) non-verbal communication and language (words) in order to be able to find what he/she is "really" telling you or trying to hide.
Enhance your communication skills to make people feel at ease with you by telling you what they really want from you instead of fooling you around.
Hope this helps, being a very wide topic. 🙏
