Managing Role Redundancy and Internal Redeployment

I work as a recruiter at an organization, and this is my first job. I've been here for about eight months and handle end-to-end recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, interview scheduling and coordination, and releasing offer letters.

A couple of weeks ago, my skip-level manager informed me that my role had become redundant due to a reduced workload. Senior leadership was considering letting me go, but he advocated on my behalf and suggested that I be moved to another team as an Interview Scheduler. I was given the option to either accept the transfer or serve my notice period and leave the organization. I chose to accept the transfer.

At present, I continue to work with my original team on two open roles while also supporting another team with interview scheduling and coordination.

But my work load has increased.I am expected to work on every Saturday, although Saturday is a non working day for us

That's frustrating!

Expecting you to do other work instead of having the day off.

I'm glad they gave you the option to transfer and advocated for you.

I genuinely hope in time things settle and you get back to having a normal work load 💛🤗
