imposter syndrome
hi everyone, here's my story.
i graduated from high school with average marks but got into a top tech program in my country and graduated from it too.
the thing about myself that has always made me feel insecure is the fact that i'm like, smart enough to get accepted into stem classes and programs but i always get distracted by something or somehow convince myself that I'm not good enough or smart enough to get through any challenges.
i am now 23 and scared of trying or challenging myself because I'm scared of failure and not being the best at everything. I used to be the best at everything and I let the world beat me down and convince me that I'm unable to achieve anything that I put my mind to.
I want to try again. I want to find my spark and create things that i love again. I want to find my motivation, to forge connections in the world and mold a better career path for myself. I'm scared of changing career paths. but I know that if I don't do it, I'm going to regret it for the rest of my life.
Hello @quietOak950
Thank you for sharing your story. It takes courage to share. I can hear how much pressure you’ve carried, feeling like you need to be the best, and how discouraging it’s been when self‑doubt gets in the way.
What stands out is your desire to try again and build a career path that feels true to you. That motivation is powerful, even if fear of failure makes it hard to start. You’ve already proven your ability by graduating from a top program, which shows you can achieve.
It’s okay to feel scared, but giving yourself permission to grow at your own pace might help you rediscover joy in creating and connecting. One step at a time is enough.

Thank you for sharing your story.
When it comes to being human, thinking and facing the unknown can be very scary as we cannot predict what will happen. luckily though, everything we do in our lives can help us grow as a person.
I want to ask you, what do you think would happen if you allowed yourself to go and try these new things? i know in your text you say you are scared of failure but could it also be a case of: you have a passion for this new challenge. Or could it also be as simple as: I did branch out and give this a try, but found out it is not for me.
When it comes to your support circle in your personal life too, do these individuals also support you in your dreams?
Just know that you are not alone and that whatever you choose for yourself will be what you believe is best for you in this stage of your life!
