I'm sure this term is well-known in the art community. I want to know how you guys overcome art block! It'll be nice to find different methods to beat this.

@Oceanbluefish

A block appears when you have done smth for a lobg time and it is no longer fun but feels like a "job", then the mind puts a break on it...

In art, inspiration and feeling is everything. If you are not int it, it is futile, just fake and meaningless...

Do smth totally different, fun and crazy that engulfs you so much that you forget about your art. Throw a party so you would have so many friends araund to talk to and entertain that you will not thonk about anything else...

Do smth else untill that feeling cimes to you and you say "I miss my art...", then it will be the moment to come back...untill then in the meantime do smth totally crazy fun and engulfing...

If I get stuck, I just need to exit my comfort zone to get some inspiration and motivation. For example not so long ago I started experimenting with glow in the dark paints and it led to some interesting artworks I am still working on. Still haven't found the best outdoor glow paints but I am trying out different options to make reasonable choice.

You could travel! It doesn't have to be an expensive trip, but it often happens that I'm taking a walk in a wood, or along the shores of a river, or in a city that I had never seen, and I see a picture with my eyes, but my head fills with completely different images! Boggy swaps full of mud crawlers and other fantasy creatures, misty woods, armed warriors crossing the forests, the erborist exposing her plant and her remedies near the temple and peasants looking at her stock, or the armies working to build barricades, preparing for an assault to the city, the adrenaline, the unnerving wait...

Travel and bring your handbook with you, you never know :D

I play solitaire! It seems weird, but then I start to sing and then I get an idea of what to draw!
