What stitch should I use for the body of a Beanie I’m making?
I’m making a beanie with a gradient bulky/chunky yarn and can’t decide between these stitches: braided stitch, 3D V stitch, Jasmine stitch, bar stitch, Jacob’s ladder stitch and the flower stitch. Feel free to suggest other stitches too! This is also my first beanie and I only have about 360 yards of yarn left.
@TheCrew4887 Hey there, crochet is one of my favorite hobbies, too. I suggest the flower stitch or the puff stitch. I have not heard of some of these, I will have to look into it! It sounds like you have enough yarn to make at least one beanie.

hey! Hobby lobby and Jo Anne’s often have sales! That sounds like a lot of fun! At hobby lobby the big rolls are 8-10 dollars, loop yarn is 11 dollars and normal yarn is anywhere from 3-7 dollars. Hope this helps!
@TheCrew4887 yes, I caught some yarn on sale at Joann's last week. I was thinking of buying some online, but not really sure about the quality, so I put it in my cart but didnt actually buy it yet.

i tried to reply earlier but I don’t think it sent. I usually go to hobby lobby! Jo Anne’s usually has sales but they’re still pretty expensive. Hobby lobby has 10-11 dollar loop yarn, 8-10 dollar big rolls of yarn, and 3-7 dollar small rolls of yarn depending on brand and yarn weight.

@TheCrew4887 i do not know about it just commenting to support your thread. i love crocheting but know only the basic pattern. a nice woman taught me in the hospital she was great
@TheCrew4887 I like to use a double crochet and then the next row goes into the stitch itself, not the usual placement.. this creates a kind of basket-weave look and it great for chunky yarn… the hook gets caught less and the process is less infuriating 🤓. Let me know what you decide.
@Samsquatch hey, that is a good idea! :) Sometimes I also alternate working into front or back loop to create a little bit more texture, without getting too complicated :)
