I can barely draw something from real life. And don’t get me started on drawing people XD
- Before you can fly, first you must learn how to crawl, then how to walk, etc. That means you need to learn the basics of drawing: line, light & shade/dark, shapes & dimensions, perspective, color theory, etc. before you start painting that masterpiece in oils (or Procreate).
- There is no substitute for practice. Like anything else, if you want to be a good artist then you must put in the time & sweat. Without focus & discipline, talent means nothing.
- When it comes to rendering the human body, there is no substitute for life drawing. Studying anatomy books & the right YT vids & online tutorials can help, but they aren't everything.
- Yes, you will make mistakes. Mistakes are not bad. That's how you grow as an artist: by screwing up a piece, then figuring out what you did wrong & then not doing that next time.

@slowdecline48 yep I made the creepy pic, for a Halloween decoration. But it was to scary and he had to face the wall. 😎 then I made cutesie ones instead

I really want to learn color theory, but my school is very hit or miss on providing that class. How can I learn it online? Any tips? Thanks <3

I dunno why you're asking me, since color theory is one of those basic subjects that the Net can tell you about as well as I can... *sigh*
What the h{ll, why not...
- Start by reading this page. You should save it as a single MHTML file, or if you're accessing it thought your phone, download it in whatever file format is best...or in whatever format your browser can handle.
- For more in-depth explanation, you could go here. Don't expect to pick it all up in one go...in fact that page has more info than you probably need. Ditto the download/save advice.
- If you like, you can use Canva's mechadigicolorcalculatorgram for a ready-made set of colors. You'll have to pay for it, though.
The above sources I picked somewhat randomly out of a search. There's also YouRube, Wikipedia, etc.
I STRONGLY suggest anyone interested in learning to draw get this book!!! It's on Amazon. I tried sooooo many books for so long, wanting to learn to draw, and they were all either dorky cartoon drawing books or "this is actually a drawing book for an expert artist but we're not telling" lol! This was the book that ACTUALLY taught me to draw. It's older than me lol! But it teaches concepts like 3D, shading, foreshortening, etc, in the easiest ways possible! Also, the drawings you make from the book are super cute and funny. <3
Also I heard about this drawing website with free lessons but haven't actually used it yet lol

@jesusredeemedme2425 they do play bingo haha! I'm not a bingo player though😂 nah! I like being here, the old folks here are so sweet. I love listening to them, they can talk for hours, I don't have visitors, cause I don't have a family or anything. But it's Easter all the old folks here have gone home with their families to celebrate ❤ it's nice they all get to do that, it's always a bit quiet during holidays though ❤❤

@jesusredeemedme2425 yes we can be sisters ❤❤ hey! Sis can I lend £20??😁 people are free to go out, as long as they can go safely or with someone. I never leave the care home though. It's scary out there. The carers do trips out to the seaside and cool places, the older folks always go ❤

Tip:
If you plan to draw in ink, sketch in pencil first. It lets you mess up a lot without it being permanent, and makes for a prettier drawing overall <3
