Check in - Depression Support, July 18 to 22, 2022

Let's reflect on the past weekend and what it told us about our emotional health.
And what we expect for this week.
Today's check-in questions are:
- How have you been feeling these days?
- How was your weekend, overall?
- Which were your best times this weekend?
- Which were not-so-good times?
- What do you wish to achieve this week?
All questions are optional. You can add any comments you wish, as they come to your mind.
I look forward to your answers!

Well lets see, my weekend was about the same as every weekend. A luttle bit worse thanthe one before. Im getting to the end of my rope. Amd even as i write this tears stream down my face and my heart aches and my very essence is torn, i still question every word i write; anxiety fills my head of what you all who reads this will think and judge. In such a moment of fucking desperation and hopelessness and i still obsess over everything. Belittle and doubt myself....and that was all in the last half hour. I hate my life.
@joeddy
Thank you for checking in!
How have you been feeling these days?
Recently... so down going into numb
How was your weekend, overall?
Too down to find the bottom
Which were your best times this weekend?
Making step goals... yeah, trying to hang in there
Which were not-so-good times?
The heat. Dealing with the weekend.
What do you wish to achieve this week?
This week I'm still dealing with fallout from last week. Trying to do daily goals but just feel like checking out and doing nothing at all. So, trying to stop that immobility. Not easy... Feeling isolated. Home sick... One good thing I did accomplish... I managed to get all the free-standing lace letters machine embroidered for my sister's 30th wedding anniversary celebration. And they're mailed off! Over 300,000 stitches.
So looking at my machine and wondering what I have the energy to tackle next. Going on 4pm and I haven't even turned it on yet...

@HealingTalk
Thank you for your kind words. Very appreciated.
I checked out the links you posted, thank you.
You are welcome!
@HealingTalk
Just thought I would give you an update. My sister video called me today. Her and her husband were there. She really, really LOVED the letters and hearts that I sent her. She's excited to use them in her decorating for their anniversary celebration. Her hubby was really amazed too. He picked up one and he said they looked store bought...lol. He was amazed they turned out looking so... I guess professional. Made my day. So yes, today was a good day.
@EmbStitcher33
Oh! How wonderful!
I am happy for you for that!
Besides being beautiful and classy, they have the emotional value of having been done by you.
How fun the way her husband expressed they look perfect!
You made your sister and her husband very happy with your work.
And making them happy, they made you happy too.
Congratulations!
I don’t know why I’m here. Is it because I want to get better? Because it doesn’t feel like I want it. I don’t know what I want. But I know there are people after me. They want to take me away.
I can’t sleep. I can barely eat and I’m always looking around for when they’re gonna come for me. They’re gonna do things to me and I don’t want that.
@Server8462
Hi Server!
Thank you for coming here once more!
No matter why, it's great that you come here.
For one part, it shows your courage to share your true emotions.
You are an authentic, genuine person. I give a lot of value to that.
This is a very safe space, you can share your thoughts knowing anyone that reads them in this community will appreciate them and understand you.
I am sorry you have that feeling that some people are after you.
You shared once about your intense social anxiety.
Social anxiety might intensify our fears of other people, which many of us have.
The frustrations like those you felt recently in the workplace, losing your job, might also make stronger the feeling that people are against us.
In my experience, the negative emotions that arise from social anxiety, frustration and distrust, might get very intense.
Anyway, you are fully safe in 7 Cups.
7 Cups is a vast safe place to explore and get support in many ways.
I encourage you to take part in all the safe and supportive activities that you might find interesting, appropriate or intriguing in 7 Cups.
I wish you that you find some moments of peace in this dark time in your life.
And please keep coming back.
You are much appreciated here.
See you soon!
Marcelo.
I’m doing pretty good this week. My stomach is still all over the place. Keeps me from sleep at night. But at least my day time is nice.
My sister said that after her celebration day is over she's thinking about putting all the letters together in a big frame! That made me feel so good that she wanted to keep them in an honored place for remembering and cherishing every day. It really makes it hit home more that, wow, I really did touch her with this homemade present.
Now, I'm working on some lighthearted stitch outs that will bring a smile to all who see them. I'll post some here if it's okay...or I can direct you to a link to see them elsewhere. I've got three done so far. Two to go. One's on the machine now.
It's been hard to move these days. It's so hot. Money is so tight. The world is in turmoil. Hard to bring it down to just my little space and make it peaceful at times. But I'm working on it. What helps? Picking up my camera and focusing on a flower or bee, or butterfly. The trick is to pay attention to something in the here and now that brings me calm and peace.
Sending out hugs to all who want/need them. Hope you're having a nice weekend all.
@EmbStitcher33
That is amazing!
I also see you are participating a lot in 7 Cups forums, and in the Hobby Zone and recent photography threads in particular..
You are an amazing and prolific photographer as well as a great embroidery artist.
The Hobby Zone is the best place to post your embroidery work, I think.
You might even start a thread to explain what embroidery is, how it's done, what can be achieved, etc. and ask the Hobby Zone team leaders to make it a Featured Thread for some days. They are extremely nice and always looking for new and original material.
You will find them here: https://www.7cups.com/home/hobbyzone/#leaders
Sorry for the delay in answering. I started answering newer check-ins and I lost sight of this one.
All the best!
Marcelo.
@HealingTalk
Awe, thank you for the suggestion. Maybe I'll share my 'learning journey' when I start delving into my new book on digitizing. I've got using my embroidery machine down pretty good now. Not perfect at it, but I've done a lot of amazing stitch-outs. Doing this might even get me into my creativity more. I'll check out the link and seriously think this over. I'd love to field questions about what I do. It would make me go even deeper. Didn't know this could be an option for a thread... this is awesome, thank you.
@EmbStitcher33
You are welcome!
And yes, explaining the craft of embroidery would be a great contribution.
You can start the thread with a simple explanation and some examples. No need for a big effort.
I leave you an example of a recent thread introducing a craft, by a Forum Supporter of that SubCommunity:
https://www.7cups.com/forum/HobbyZone_125/ArtsCrafts_641/AmigurumiFun_281785/
I hope you like this example.
All the best!
Marcelo.
