Has anyone else gotten to a point in their depression where they feel numb? Like you feel like you can’t cry when you need to or have trouble processing feelings or emotions? Help please!

I've been there. Whenever it got to that point, I knew I had to talk to someone...

Absolutely. I believe the medical term for it is "anhedonia" which means lack of pleasure or numbness. Medications help me, as has talk therapy in the past when I've gotten super low. I'm sorry that you're hurting so much right now.

It feels exactly like that. Are you able to talk to a therapist? It can really help. @absiee

I’ve tried to ask my parents to take me but they don’t understand. They don’t think I need it and invalidate my experiences. Thanks for the help though.

Parents can be really hard that way. One way around it is to start to look up some journal articles about what depression looks like and how severe it can become. Show them the articles. That can be a good starting point for discussion. It really is brain waves and chemicals. Ask them if they would let you go to the doctor if you had a hurt arm. This is quite similar.@absiee
