Continuous Negative Thinking
Hey guys :) I have found that I suffer from a persistent negative habit, negative thinking and comparisons of myself to thee people, physically, personality wise, the whole sha-bang. I am still trying to tackle this but does anyone else have similar issues like this? Any stores or how do you deal with it?

Hello - Funny I was just having this conversation with a listener, he said he could could control them but couldn't specify how. lol...
Anyway, here is some food for thought -
1. As soon as you become aware of them replace them with another thought - yes, by force. Find something positive to repeat to yourself.
2. Similar to above, use something to distract yourself, something that requires mind focus/thinking. for example a crossword puzzle or playing a musical instrument.
3. Could this be OCD? Maybe, if the thoughts feel invasive and continuous. Get professional help to find out if this is the case.
4. Lots and lots of exercise is great for your brain chemistry and should help with negative thoughts.
5. Become familiar with your own strengths. Use them, celebrate them.
6. Learn meditation techniques.
I hope something in this list is helpful to you.
Take care,

I have been taking DBT classes and they teach "Turning the Mind" you might want to look into this which helps me a lot.
