Getting Older = Getting Lonlier
I used to have 10+ close friends it was a hustle balancing time between them ... that was 5 years ago now i only have 5 friends 3 of them moved out of the country and the remaining are too busy to hang ... i spend days trying to find some one to go out with for a walk or talk ... i have no life outside work which is very depressing
I hear you and share your sense of isolation. My friends have died or moved across the country or we have lost touch over the years. I am not sure how to reconnect. I did, however, go way out of my comfort zone on Wednesday. I went to a drop in crafters’ group that was meeting in the community center. Social anxiety usually prevents me from doing something like this but my daughter and I had a deal. She went on a date (just broke off an engagement) and I went to stitch and ***. Both of us survived.
