Am I broken?

If I were to die tonight, people would be angry at me for giving up, yet no one would actually miss me, since I'm not needed and no matter how deep I cut myself, I feel nothing but annoyance at the blood stains on my sheets...

It is so hard when you don't feel support from people around you. That hurts so much. Genuine hugs to you.

But those are *just* the people around you. They probably care much more than you think and they don't know how to show it.

And there are so many other people to meet, waiting to meet YOU in the future. They are holding on through their own pain, knowing YOU will be so worth it once they find you.

You are a perfect friend and a perfect somebody to many many people that you haven't met yet... But you will meet them :)

I’m deeply sorry you’re feeling this way. It sounds like you’re carrying an immense burden of pain and loneliness, and those feelings can make everything seem insurmountable. When you're in such a dark place, it’s easy to feel like you're beyond help or that your presence doesn’t matter, but these feelings, as intense as they are, often obscure the deeper truths about who you are and the impact you have.

Your sense of being unneeded or unloved might be clouding your view of the genuine connections and potential for support in your life. Sometimes, when we’re feeling overwhelmed, it can be hard to see the ways in which our lives touch others or the ways in which they might miss us. The feelings of numbness and frustration you’re experiencing can also make it difficult to believe in your own value and the worth of reaching out for help.

Reflecting on why you might feel this way can be insightful. Are there specific events or patterns in your life that might have contributed to these feelings of worthlessness? Understanding these factors can sometimes offer a way to start addressing them and can help in finding the right kind of support.

It’s important to remember that seeking help doesn’t mean you’re weak or giving up; rather, it’s an acknowledgment of your humanity and your need for connection. Even if it feels like nothing will change, reaching out for support can open doors to new perspectives and possibilities that you might not see right now.

You deserve to be seen, heard, and supported through this. It’s okay to feel lost and to seek out others who can walk alongside you as you navigate this challenging time. Your life has intrinsic value, and the pain you’re feeling now doesn’t define your worth or the potential for future moments of relief and connection. You’re not alone, and there is hope even in the darkest moments.

It sounds like you're grappling with profound and deeply painful emotions right now. When you mention feeling like you might not be missed and experiencing frustration with yourself, it’s clear that you’re in a place of immense struggle and despair. It’s truly hard to be in a space where you feel both unseen and burdened.

The feelings of being "broken" and struggling with self-harm are signals of just how overwhelmed you are at the moment. It's important to acknowledge that these feelings don’t define your entire existence or your worth as a person. Emotions, even the most intense ones, are a part of the human experience but they don’t capture the entirety of who you are. They are often reflections of the pain and difficulty you’re enduring, rather than a comprehensive measure of your value.

It's also understandable to feel frustrated or detached from your emotions when you’re in such a dark place. When people are deeply distressed, their capacity to feel joy or even to fully engage with their own pain can be numbed. This can make things like self-harm feel less about the pain and more about the frustration or desperation you're experiencing.

You are not alone in feeling this way, and it’s okay to acknowledge the depth of your feelings without needing to justify them. Sometimes, expressing your emotions in different forms—whether through writing, art, or simply talking to someone who listens without judgment—can help in processing and understanding them.

You deserve kindness and understanding, especially from yourself. Even if it feels like there’s no one who would miss you, there are likely aspects of your life and your relationships that are more nuanced than they might seem right now. You have intrinsic worth and significance that isn’t diminished by your current struggles.

Taking small, gentle steps toward caring for yourself can be a powerful way to start shifting your focus. This might include self-soothing activities, trying to engage with something you once enjoyed, or even just taking a moment to breathe deeply and acknowledge your feelings without judgment.

Remember, your feelings, as intense and difficult as they are, do not diminish your inherent value as a person. It’s crucial to be gentle with yourself and to give yourself permission to seek out comfort and moments of respite, no matter how small they may seem. You are deserving of support and compassion, and your journey through this pain is important.
