A perfect day where you feel neither lonely nor depressed.
On a perfect day free from loneliness and depression, every moment would be infused with warmth and connection. I would wake up feeling a sense of calm and purpose, surrounded by the comforting embrace of loved ones. Throughout the day, I would cherish deep conversations and heartfelt laughter, sharing genuine moments of understanding and support. In the presence of those who truly care, I would feel safe to express my emotions freely, knowing I am accepted and valued. As the day unfolds, I would engage in activities that nourish my soul—whether it's exploring nature, immersing myself in creative pursuits, or simply enjoying quiet moments of reflection. Each interaction would be filled with empathy and compassion, reaffirming my sense of belonging and reminding me of the beauty in human connection. As the sun sets, I would carry with me a profound sense of gratitude and fulfillment, knowing that I have experienced a day where love and understanding prevailed over any feelings of loneliness or sadness but I can only imagine that and that's the sad reality....
I can completely understand the desire for a perfect day, but what about a perfect 5 minutes? I bet those happen to you even with depression.
I know that my way out of the hole was recognizing first that I wasn't going to get any perfect days because every day has a rough spot or two. But even more important than that was convincing myself that that great 5 minutes that I had mattered when the rest of the 24 hours was crap. When I began convincing myself to celebrate and even write down those moments of connection then I began to improve slowly but surely. 5 minutes became 10, became half and hour, became an hour.
You can do this. Slow and steady wins the race to getting some improvement. @Gargi07
@bestVase7265 I appreciate your perspective, but depression isn't something that can be easily set aside, even for a few minutes. It's a complex and deeply affecting condition. However, I do believe in finding small moments of peace and joy where possible but still, Every time I feel that 5 minutes of spark in my life, I appreciate it deeply. Even though those 5 minutes can sometimes stretch into hours or days, but, it all eventually comes to an end. And when that spark fades, life seems to take revenge for those happy moments with a cruelty I've never witnessed before. That's why I'm always afraid of those 5 minutes, but yeah I do try hard to enjoy my life, but there are moments that always act as roadblocks for my smooth journey. I'm the only one who witnesses these struggles; no one in my life knows about them, so to them, I'm always happy not only for 5 minutes but for lifetime lol
I never said what I was suggesting was the least bit easy. It is the most difficult thing that you will ever do because your brain wants you to do everything but really connect to the world due to the depression. You are literally rewiring your brain. For me that took years and you can barely even see it happening at first. I am just saying that it is possible to do.
You can start it with a simple daily practice of writing down a 5 minute interval for you. Do it for a month or two so you get both the downswings and the upswings.
Can the bad stuff still come? Absolutely. Will it be just as painful? Absolutely. But it stops lasting for as long because you have developed a mindset that brings you back to "okay" faster. That is what you are aiming for.@Gargi07
@bestVase7265 Thankyou so much I appreciate that ✨
Any time. If you want some help along the way, I love to be a sounding board for people. I will send something back at least once a day. @Gargi07
