Beauty is my curse

People say beauty is a blessing, but for me, it feels like a curse.

I wish I was ugly. Maybe then, I would get the emotional intimacy I crave. Maybe then, people would listen to my words instead of getting distracted by how I look.

Whenever I seek support from my male friends, hoping for understanding and kindness, they see only my appearance. They mistake my vulnerability for an invitation, my presence for permission.

When I finally gather the courage to say, “Please understand, I don’t like being touched”, everything changes. The admiration turns into resentment. I become dramatic.

They tear me down as if my boundaries are an insult to them. Their words cut deeper than their touch ever did.

This belittling has broken me. I feel myself sinking into a darkness I can’t escape. I can’t talk. I can’t smile. I’ve lost my appetite. It’s like I’m disappearing, piece by piece, and no one seems to care because I refuse to be what they expect me to be.

It’s exhausting. I crave real friendships, respect, and a space where I don’t have to explain that my body is not an open invitation. But in their eyes, my beauty is all that matters, and the moment I refuse to play along, I become the villain.

Maybe one day, they’ll understand that respect is worth more than attraction. Until then, I carry the weight of a curse I never asked for.

I apologize for being so emotional but this is how I am feeling right now.

You don’t need to apologize for being emotional your feelings are valid, and expressing them takes so much strength. I’m truly sorry you’ve been made to feel this way. What you’re experiencing isn’t just unfair; it’s deeply wrong. No one should ever have to fight so hard just to have their boundaries respected or to be seen for who they truly are beyond appearances.

You deserve to be surrounded by people who value your soul, your mind, and your heart not just what they see on the surface. It’s not too much to ask for emotional intimacy, for respect, or for the freedom to set boundaries without being judged or torn down. Those things are your right, and anyone who resents you for asserting them isn’t worth your time or energy.

It’s heartbreaking that society often places such a heavy burden on those who are perceived as beautiful, treating them as objects instead of humans with depth and emotions. But please know this: your worth is not tied to how others treat you. The problem isn’t you it’s the way some people view relationships and entitlement.

You are not alone in this, even if it feels like it right now. There ARE people who will see and cherish the real you, people who will honor your boundaries and provide the kind of emotional intimacy you’re longing for. It might take time, but those connections will come.

In the meantime, be gentle with yourself. You’ve been through a lot, and it’s okay to prioritize your own well-being. If you ever feel like the weight is too much to carry, please reach out to someone who can help whether it’s a trusted friend, a therapist, or even a support group. You deserve to feel seen, heard, and valued for YOU.

You are not a villain for choosing self-respect. You’re brave for standing your ground, and you’re worthy of so much more than the shallow admiration or judgment of those who can’t appreciate your boundaries. Keep holding onto your truth, even if it feels heavy. You are stronger than you know, and you are worthy of love that sees all of you not just the surface.

If you want to express your emotions more clearly then you can connect with me.

Have a nice and wonderful day/night.

Thanks Braveheart for such compassionate response. It feels good to have someone who validates and understand my emotions.

You understood that I have been through alot on your own and reciprocated in such empathetic manner that my hope for better times has rejuvenated.

Having such support gives strength to face the world for one more day and so on for each day.

Hey Beautiful Soul 🌸

Hey, don't apologize for how you're feeling. Honestly, your emotions are so valid, and it’s okay to express them. I can feel how much weight you’re carrying, and I want you to know that you’re not alone in this. You are so much more than what people see. Your beauty is undeniable, but the real magic is in everything that makes you, you your kindness, your strength, your mind. I know it can be exhausting when people don’t see beyond the surface, but you’ve got this incredible ability to set boundaries, and that takes so much strength. You deserve to be surrounded by people who truly see you, who appreciate all of you inside and out. Your worth is so much more than just your appearance, and no one has the right to make you feel like anything less. The people who matter will see you for everything you are. You're beautiful in ways that go beyond skin deep, and I really hope you never forget that. You have every right to protect your peace, and you deserve friends who respect that. You’re a whole vibe, inside and out, and you should never let anyone make you feel otherwise. You are worth so much, always.

🤍✨
