Fading Hope
I just lost more time with my 2 young children, 7yr daughter, 5yr son. Left the courthouse this morning starting with visitation 3days a week (agreed outside of court) cut to twice a month every 1st & 3rd Saturday 9a-6p. Due to a messy divorce my ex spouse is being petty and vindictive using my babies to hurt me and it's working. I'm fighting a losing battle wanting to give up but wouldn't be able to live with myself if I did because that would mean I'm basically giving up on my kids even fighting for them is killing me mentally and draining me in everything else. I'm just seeking advice, guidance, conversation, an open ear. Idk what else to say.

I'm really sorry you're going through this. What you’re facing isn’t just hard it’s heartbreaking. Feeling helpless, like your own children are being pulled further out of reach, is one of the deepest pains any parent can feel. It’s okay to admit that this is wearing you down. You’re human. You’re not weak for feeling this way you’re strong for still standing, still fighting, still trying to hold on. What you're doing matters, even when it feels like nothing is changing. Every step you take, every tear you cry, every court date you show up for your kids may not fully understand it now, but one day they will. One day, they’ll see that you never gave up on them, even when it broke you to keep going. You have every right to be tired, but please don’t confuse exhaustion with failure. You’re not failing you’re fighting a system, a situation, and a person who is not playing fair. That’s a lot. But still, you’re here, still trying. That makes you a damn good parent. Lean into whatever support you can find, whether it’s a friend, a group, or just quiet moments where you let yourself cry and breathe. You don’t have to carry all this alone, and you don’t have to pretend to be okay when you’re not. You’re not broken you’re hurting. And there’s a difference. Your love for your kids is real, powerful, and showing up in every hard choice you’re making. Keep going. Not because it's easy, but because they’re worth it and so are you.
